.::UNIVERSITY OF HYDERABAD ADVANCES ENTRANCE EXAMS TO FEBRUARY::.

Masters in Public Health, and Integrated Masters course in Earth and Space Sciences to be introduced
To catch the cream of students and streamline the admission process, the University of Hyderabad (UoH) has decided to advance its annual entrance examinations for entry to P.G., M.Phil, Ph.D. and Integrated courses to February instead of the regular period of April and May.
The UoH Vice-Chancellor, Ramakrishna Ramaswamy, Registrar, C.P. Mohan Kumar, and Controller of Examinations, Venkateshwar Rao, told a press conference that the entrance tests would be held from February 21 to 26, 2013 in 33 centres across the country.
The application process would be online and candidates would have to submit the forms from December 21 to January 21, 2013.
Prof. Ramaswamy said the idea of advancing the tests was to retain the top students who were going to other institutions due to delay in the admission process. Moreover, the students were joining till August though the classes began on July 15.
He said they wanted to ensure that toppers stayed with the UoH and also full-strength classes were held from day one. He felt February was not too early as students started their preparations for various entrance and competitive tests well in advance.
Two new courses – Master of Public Health in collaboration with Indian Institute of Public Health, and Integrated Masters programme of five years duration in Earth and Space Sciences would be introduced from the forthcoming academic year.
Admission process will be online and applications submitted online only will be considered. However, the tests will be held in the paper-pen mode. Candidates have to submit forms on ‘www.uohyd.ac.in’.
Separate application has to be submitted for each course and the fee is Rs. 350 for General and OBC category students and Rs. 150 for SC/ST/PWD category students. Fee has to be submitted in the form of bank challan along with the application form.

  • Entrance tests will be held from February 21 to 26, 2013, at 33 centres
  • Candidates should submit applications online from December 21 to Jan 21
