.:: SCHOOL AND EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS REMAIN CLOSED TODAY | 1st OCTOBER 2012 ::.
A bandh has been called by the Telangana Joint Action Committee (JAC), in Hyderabad to put more pressure on the government to establish a separate Telangana state, as well as to protest the violence that broke out during the Telangana march on Sunday. They have also said that the responsibility for bringing a separate Telangana state is now on ministers from the region.
The Osmania University has already postponed examinations that were scheduled for today.
The bandh called on Sunday saw thousands of protesters defy prohibitory orders and join the ‘Telangana march’ to press their demand for a separate state.
Telanaga March , which had been held yesterday between 3:00 to 7:00 PM in yesterday evening near P.V Ghat had been successfully completed admits severe security and paramilitary forces and succeeded in getting their attention on the Government Of Andhra Pradesh as well as U.P.A . Though the paramilitary forces stopped the T.J.A.C activists from Osmania University using around 200 barrels of tear gas. They were how ever stopped and prevented to enter into Telangana March in groups.
Several educational institutions in the Telangana region, including in Hyderabad, are closed following the bandh call by pro-Telangana groups.
